The "Fantastic Four" movie is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2025. This film will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and is highly anticipated by fans, marking the introduction of Marvel's First Family into the MCU.
It is the third time it's been delayed. The move was originally slated for November 8, 2024, then moved to February 14, 2025, and then moved to May 2, 2025. Luckily, filming begins in July of 2024. Kevin Feige confirmed - "We start shooting at the end of July,". "The day after Comic-Con [International: San Diego] is the first day of filming on Fantastic Four."

Marvel has yet to reveal the full plot for the highly anticipated "Fantastic Four" movie, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that it won't be another origin story. While the original team gained their superpowers from cosmic rays during a space mission, Marvel seems ready to take a new direction this time around.

Feige shared at San Diego Comic-Con, "A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before? We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen." This suggests that Marvel is looking to explore fresh narratives instead of rehashing the familiar story of how the team got their powers.
Given that previous "Fantastic Four" adaptations have focused heavily on their origin, it makes sense that Marvel would aim to break away from the traditional storyline. Since the Fantastic Four first appeared in 1961, there are countless storylines to explore beyond their beginnings. Marvel's approach to the MCU often involves reinventing classic tales, so a new angle for this iconic team seems fitting.
